I was privileged enough to attend the Global Entrepreneurship Week 2016 #GEW (14 - 20 Nov)

So what is the fuss about GEW... why am I even posting about it? Well, I am an entrepreneur myself and it is always good to empower, network and broaden your knowledge when it comes to business and life in general - which is why I attended the GEW.

What is it though?

Global Entrepreneurship Week is the world’s largest celebration of the innovators and job creators who launch startups that bring ideas to life, drive economic growth and expand human welfare. During one week each November, GEW inspires people everywhere through local, national and global activities designed to help them take the next step in their entrepreneurial journey. These activities, from large-scale competitions and events to intimate networking gatherings, connect participants to potential collaborators, mentors and even investors — introducing them to new possibilities and exciting opportunities.

On the last day of the #GEW, the theme was all things Finance (very informative as I'm super scared of anything financial). I'll share just the basics of what I learnt about business and accounting.

• Business can be summed up in 3 simple ways
• Find something you love
• Find something that pays
• Find something you love doing
• The middle ground found in-between all the mentioned 3 spheres is the common ground and all you need to do thereafter is just #DoIt #Start

• Account in a nutshell revolves around the below 3:
• Debtors - Who owes me money? 
• Creditors - Who do I owe money?
• Cash flow - How much do I have remaining in the bank?

We were thereafter challenged to take it upon ourselves to delve into the financial side of business and immerse ourselves so that as entrepreneurs you've got all your bases covered; you know what's going on in your business.

So I challenged myself since I cringe at the sight and thought of anything mathematical/numerical/financial anything numbery basically - to do a course/degree that involves finance/accounting #My2017Challenge.
